RECRUITMENT

Specific Recruitment Needs:

Due to expansion of our business Ford Consulting Group are looking to recruit the following environmental staff to work out of the Delph office.

Remediation Engineer/Scientist: Individuals are sought who have three to ten years of experience of working for either a consultant or a contractor in contaminated land remediation and Brownfield regeneration.   You should have a good quality degree in engineering or relevant science (BSc) discipline (for instance Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology), as a minimum.   ‘Hands on' capabilities are required in the design, procurement and management of implementing ground and groundwater remediation schemes, particularly relating to ex situ treatment, such as excavation and disposal, containment, bioremediation or other physical and chemical treatment methods.   Experience of demolition, landfill restoration and/or geotechnical engineering will be a distinct advantage. You will be office based with occasional periods of site based working in the UK, Ireland and potentially Europe.   We are seeking a numerate, hard working team player, who is a good communicator and enthusiastic about their work.

Hydrogeology Graduates – One or more MSc hydrogeologists that will graduate in the autumn of 2008, who want to work in the diverse world of environmental consulting for a niche player in the contaminated land (groundwater) market. Location expected to be Northern England or possibly Ireland. If you work for Ford Consulting Group you will be able to apply your hydrogeological (and other) skills to a wide range of project situations, including contaminated land investigation; hydraulic conductivity and aquifer pump testing; contaminant fate and transport evaluation; groundwater-surface water interaction; monitored natural attenuation (MNA) and soil/groundwater corrective action programmes.

Administrative Support Person – Ford Consulting Group requires an administration support person to help with the day to day running of the Delph Office. Office duties are expected to include limited reception duties, word processing, management of report finalisation and issue, processing of client and supplier invoices and general office administration. You will also be required to provide support to professional staff, where possible, when they are working away from the office or within it. The position may be full-time or at least initially part time, in part dependent upon the needs of the most qualified, experienced and our preferred candidate.

Please send CVs to jim.wragg@fordconsulting.co.uk (Graduate Hydrogeologists) or marcus.ford@fordconsulting.co.uk (Senior Consultant Ireland; Administrative role).

As a small company we will give preference to people who have the initiative to contact us directly rather than via recruitment agencies. We prefer to spend the fee ££ on the development of the person rather than incurring an upfront payment to a third party service provider.

General Recruitment Needs:

Ford Consulting Group was established in early 2005 and continues to grow organically at >50% per year (head count and revenues). It has ambition to become a significant player in the UK & Ireland arena. We are always interested in hearing from talented and motivated people who are passionate about the environment and their work. If you are interested in doing something a bit different, joining a small and up and coming consultancy, who's founders lead by example and provide strong support and direction, both in your day-to-day work and your career development, then contact us directly. Send your Curriculum Vitae and a letter to either Marcus Ford or Jim Wragg at our business address (see above or the Contact Us section of the website).

We are generally interested in hiring professionals working on contaminated land and related projects. At the moment people with 1-5 years experience are of most interest, probably with a Science degree and an MSc in a relevant subject (e.g., hydrogeology, pollution control) and already working in consultancy. Graduate recruitment is also core to our growth strategy with an annual hiring programme in place.
