The moors above Delph, an inspiration to writers such as Tolkien and the Brontes, form a haunting landscape of rugged hills and vast skies, etched with stone walls, streams and ancient tracks. They provide opportunities for a huge array of activities from mountain biking and climbing to walking, bird-watching, and water sports available at one of the local reservoirs.

The vibrant cities of Manchester and Leeds, both about forty minutes from Delph, offer numerous sports and music venues, theatres, museums, first class shopping and of course many other great places to eat out and socialise.
